An Open Letter to the One who’s gonna Take my Place

You are blessed.

I’ve said it a lot of times but I couldn’t imagine a better work (place) for a fresh graduate, to begin with. You are blessed because you belong to a department whose people treat each other as family.

I’ve [unsolicited] introduction for you.

You will be working with the people who made it so hard for me to let go. I love the job but I love the people more because they made my seemingly weary days to bearable ones.

I’m going to start writing about the one tough man who made my stay meaningful, productive, and full of [life] lessons.

He’s the older brother I wish I have.

Listen to his pieces of advice, debate with him, present your ideas, and never be scared of being yourself because he knows how to deal with all of that. He knows how to treat your muryot days or even how to attack your silence.

He’s going to listen to your rants and snide remarks of how bad your day is and you will be grateful that you burst your frustations out to the person who’ll never blame you for feeling that way.

He is going to be your counterpart so listen carefully to his teachings. Consult him for every difficulty you’ll encounter because he got everything covered. *winks*

Ah, he’s the big man with eyeglasses who takes amazing shots of people and places.

Warning for this one: Do not fall in love [if you’re a girl] with his good looks (Because he has better traits to adore than his baby face). He’s the kind of bully you never want to strangle because you’ll be fond of how subtle his bullying is. Remind him daily to eat more, okay?

The two remaining members of the CorpComm team are my ate’s. They are (most of the time) silent but they have the ideas they willingly share when “kaingayan” times take place (which basically is all the time). You will be amazed with their works because you’ll know how they devote their hearts for the outcome.

PS. Do not do anything– sorry for the lack of better word– stupid. I still got their back.

I am the bunso and whoever you are, take note that you are going to work with people who will greatly influence you to be a better person, all the more spiritually.

Ate Tess, Kuya Serge, and Kuya Marlon will never leave you hanging, you can always approach them and ask for their prayers and advice.

Ate Reyna, on the other hand, is the pinaka-kalog of all. She knows how to make you laugh and if ever you need a kakulitan, go to her side.

You’ll definitely adore ate Erika. Conversations with her are never boring.

Ate Bing, of course, is not what you think she is. She may have a mataray face but she is soft and gentle. She is my roommate and she’s also someone you can drag to kainan when you need a cheat day buddy. I will miss our after-office jogging/badminton/zumba sessions so if you want to get fit, she’s on call.

But you know whom I am so proud to share what I feel about? They are [my] leaders.

Miss Gigi is the most understanding manager you’ll ever meet. She is open-minded and she knows how to deal with her people. She’s sensitive (in the best way) because next thing you’ll know, she’ll be asking you ‘how are you’ and she’ll constantly be fighting for you whenever the need rises.

Talk to her about everything because she always has the answer. She’s not hard to approach nor hard to deal with. Listen to her laugh, it’s contagious.

Most of all, Doc Kim, our spirit-filled woman. Bring your notebook and pen every company devotion because most of the time, she shares valuable life lessons you will always keep on meditating to.

Take note of how she unconsciously inspires her people to be better and bold; of how she defiantly lives with the words of God; of how compassionate of a person she is because she puts other people first before herself; and of how she continually brings life to the foundation without her trying hard to.wpid-fb_img_1436545028252.jpg

And to the other people I haven’t mentioned? They are amazing. They always have that smile plastered in their faces that can brighten up your otherwise dull day.

They are the ones you can run to whenever you want to stand up from your chair just to look for food, lels no — for much-needed-out-of-the-blue conversations.

They are intended to remind you how blessed you are to be working in a Foundation with makukulit and mababait na people and you will never get tired of that. You can drag most of them to movie nights and more importantly to worship nights.

You will learn a lot more of your spiritual walk with God with the people in the workforce and I extend my congratulations.

I’m jealous of you, you know. You see? That is why it is so hard to defeat my separation anxiety.

Final note, enjoy your field days and even the times you spend in the office. Develop your compassion, and write compelling stories to inspire other people. It’s not a tough job, it’s a source of living you’ll undeniably love.

But.. after I’m done with my studies and have settled all my obligations, can I have the position back? 😀

Writer’s note: I’ve wrote this letter the night I finally decided to write my resignation letter. I tell you, it’s the hardest thing, it broke my heart.

What do you think?
